One of Verso’s core tenants is nurturing, developing and knowing your inner self.
Alongside our activities abroad, the meditation meetings are one of the Foundation’s oldest and longest-standing projects.
They allow participants to open up a space of calmness, silence and inspiration, and to take a break from the frenzy of everyday life.
The hallmark of Verso’s approach to the project is offering sapiential, secular and religious paths, allowing people to meet and engage with different teachers with differing approaches to spirituality.
With Psychosynthesis, we believe it is important for each person to be free to choose their own spiritual direction, and this should be respected.
Since 2013, we have been offering retreats in Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Christianity, as well as secular paths such as Psychosynthesis.
These are some of the teachers we have met: Corrado Pensa (2014), Piero Ferrucci (2015), Neva Papachirstou (2020), Padre Alessandro Barban, (2014), Paolo Testa (2020), Gianni Dattilo (2015), Marilia Albanese (2017), Padre Axel Bayer (2021), Shahrzad Houshmand Zadeh (2016), Banthe Sujiva (2022).
Previously the retreats only took place in person, but during the pandemic we have experimented with new approaches:
– an urban retreat with Paolo Testa, practising meditation over Zoom for half an hour early in the morning and half an hour in the evening, for a week, remaining in a familiar environment while allowing the practice of meditation to permeate each of the day’s activities and encounters.
– a mixed format with Father Axel Bayer, partly urban (online) and partly face-to-face.
Finally, we also offered a meeting that combined a spiritual tradition (Buddhist on this occasion, with Ven. Bhante Sujiva) in a place of worship of a different faith (Christian).
We would like to find a way to offer everyone the chance to encounter these practices and to become acquainted with and nurture their own consciousness and inner self, coming to the realisation that this knowledge and familiarity are essential sources of integrity, growth and well-being.
